Great Plains College is at the leading edge of Saskatchewan’s regional college system. The college is focused on meeting the needs of learners, employers and communities in western Saskatchewan. They are working to build stronger leaders, careers, partnerships and communities. The college strives to provide for the distinct needs of their service area by challenging everyone to continually build a responsive, innovated and results-orientated institution. As a result, Great Plains College was the first regional college in Saskatchewan to introduce a health and dental plan for its students and also proudly boasts one of the strongest scholarship programs in all of Canada.
On average, Great Plains College hosts or is involved in one event every three days. Great Plains College Student Associations are established at the Kindersley, Swift Current and Warman Campuses. The student associations are led by students that work hard to enhance the education experience and quality of life throughout the college. Students have been involved in the Olympic torch relay, mock accidents to raise awareness, community tree plantings, chili cook-offs, ball hockey challenges, casino nights, Halloween costume and ugly sweater contests, the Relay for Life, scavenger hunts, fundraising auctions, campus luncheons and bowling and pizza nights, to name a few.
